
Fleet Feet Triathletes
Welcome
Fleet Feet Triathletes is a friendly and sociable triathlon club open to members of all abilities.
We provide coached sessions for swim, bike and run in Aberdeen and across Aberdeenshire with highly experienced and award-winning triathlon coaches.
Throughout the year, members compete in numerous local, national and international events of all distances and each season is filled with many competitive and social events.
We also organise a number of home races based at the beautiful Knockburn Loch and are proud to be hosting the Scottish National Championship Standard Triathlon again in 2026.
New for 2026 we have our Couch to Triathlete programme which is designed to take you from beginner to confident Triathlete. Question and Answer session is arranged for Monday 26th January in Aberdeen Sports Village, meeting room 1, please contact fleetfeet.coaches@gmail.com to secure your place!
We have two open Facebook pages; Fleet Feet Triathletes - for general news and Fleet Feet Racing at Knockburn Loch - which is dedicated to events. We also have virtual clubhouse on Facebook - Fleet Feet Triathletes (members only) which is open to members only.
Membership
Potential members are welcome to come try one of our training sessions by paying the non-member session rate (£8.70 for swim and indoor cycle, £8.40 day pass for track) when booking with ASV. Full Fleet Feet membership will be required to attend thereafter.
Annual membership runs from January - December and is only £33 for adults and £18 for juniors (age 14 - 17) and students. New members who join between October and December have their membership rolled on to the following year at no extra cost.
Members can chose the pay-as-you-go rate for training sessions (£6 for swim and indoor cycle, £8.40 day pass for track) or they can take advantage of an all-in Triathlon Lifestyle membership rate of Aberdeen Sports Village which provides access to all sessions and membership of the facility.

Training Sessions

Swim
Aberdeen Sports Village Aquatics Centre
Monday - 50m lanes (Nov - Apr)
20:00 - 21:30 All abilities
Mainly endurance based session; incorporating drills and technique exercises and developing open water skills prior to the open water season starting in May.
Thursday - 25m lanes (year-round)
18:30 - 19:30 Beginners and Improvers - Targeted at swimmers who are new to triathlon or anticipate taking longer than 15 minutes to swim 750m.
19:30 - 20:30 Intermediate and Advanced - For more experienced swimmers. Mainly focused on technique development through drills, working on the 5 levels of drill progression. This session will also include a triathlon specific fitness development element.
11:30 - 12:30 Saturday - 50m lanes (year-round)
Two uncoached swim lanes available for Fleet Feet use.

Bike
Tuesday (Nov - Apr)
19:00 - 20:00 All levels of experience and ability welcome.
Bike session working through components of bike fitness, including high cadence, isolated leg exercises, bike specific power, strength and muscular endurance. The sessions will become more race specific with time.
Sessions are on static bikes so no turbo trainers required.

Run
Saturday (year-round)
09:00 - 10:15 All levels of experience and ability welcome.
Sessions will be modified to suit individual requirements. Working through components of run fitness in order to develop run economy, efficiency and speed. Sessions will use balance and coordination drills and strength and power drills and exercises to develop run ability and will develop run endurance and 10k pace.

Couch to Triathlete
Starts Saturday 17th January
No experience necessary:
Sessions will be tailored for beginners and take place
in an encouraging, group environment
No background in triathlon required
Following week 3, you will integrate into the general
club training sessions and work towards local events:
Westhill Duathlon and Lochside Aquathlon
Joining this program will entitle you to a free entry at
either the Westhill Duathlon or Lochside Aquathlon
Requirements:
Able to swim 25m in a swimming pool
Trainers and sports clothes for indoor cycling and
running sessions
Swimming goggles for pool sessions
Pay ASV to access facility and can attend 2x
sessions, after which a Fleet Feet Triathlon Club
membership will be needed to continue

Set in the heart of Royal Deeside, the Knockburn Loch venue features a man-made sporting loch and challenging trails and paths.
- 1500m Open Water Swim. 2 laps, wetsuits are compulsory and there will be a 50 minute cut-off time.
- 42km Cycle. 3 lap undulating cycle on quiet country roads.
- 10km Run. On the challenging terrain in surrounding area. Mixture of trails and paths.
